Fly...I Mean...Sail Away!

When I leave work today (early mind you), I am gone for 10 days!  10 days of not having to think of work!  That thought alone is refreshing!

Only A Couple of More Days...

...of work before getting some well deserved time off!  Tick....tock.....tick....tock.  At least today and tomorrow are short days.  I tried to warn folks yesterday that I need things by noon tomorrow if they want ME to do the work...after that no guarantee that I will be the one getting it done or when it will get done!  So far, the big stuff that I know is hanging out there is still has not come my way.  Oh well....I warned them!

Case of the Mundays!

Okay...this week needs to go by quickly!  I'm getting through my list of to-do's before leaving on vacation, and I'm just ready to blow this pop stand!  The only one in the office again today from my team...I hate these days!  That means everyone will come to me for everything....grrr!  Visions of ocean in my head.....

Should Be A Long Day

Didn't get to sleep until about 1:00 a.m.  My son's first game of the season was last night 2 hours away from home.  His was the last of 4 teams to play, and as the evening progressed, the delay for the next game starting got later and later...so much so that my son's game started an hour later than it was supposed to.  Anyway...he and his team did a great job, being the only team to come out of the 4 that went for his school with a victory.  They wanted the victory very bad...had been talking about it for two weeks.  They are going for an undefeated season, and from what I saw last night, they are well on their way.  These kids do not play like 8th graders...they have the same drive and heart that the high school varsity team has.  My poor son was so sore with scrapes and bruises everywhere, not from what the other team did to him, but from what he did to the other team!  Every time they hiked the ball, be it my son was on the offensive side or the defensive side, he came out of his pocket like a freight train to take down anyone who got in his way.  He isn't the biggest guy on the team, but he is one of the strongest and quickest!

Anyway, another day at the office by myself...I'm the only one from my team here today, and it is already looking like a busy Friday.  Should make for a very long day!!!

Christmas Wallpapers Already?

I go to my favorite wallpaper site today to see if there is anything interesting I have to have.  I come to find that someone or someones already posted PAGES full of Christmas wallpapers!  Can we please save these for...I don't know....let's say....NOVEMBER!!! Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas....the twinkle lights, the smell of cinnamon, TSO.  What I don't like is all the commercialization and everyone who starts pushing Christmas months early!  It isn't even cold yet!

Vacation Still Seems So Far Away!

I am SO ready for my vacation, but a week and a half seems so far off!  What is worse, the actual week of my vacation will probably go by in a flash, and then I will be back in this office!  I hope to make my vacation last as long a possible!

 

Back to work and back to meetings....I hate meetings....no music in meetings....I gotta have my music!

Rumor Has It...

...that the sun is supposed to come back today. :(  I'm enjoying the cloudy, overcast, not having to squint your eyes when you go outside weather!  Not to mention, the temps have been coming down. Oh well, the nice weather couldn't last forever!

Work....Work

Planning stuff out for my vacation, considering I'm really only in the office 7 1/2 days between now and my vacation.  Taking a day off this week to take a 2+ hour trip up north to go watch my son's football game, and have to take an afternoon off next week to get my hair tended to (I'm not going on vacation with my roots showing...even if my natural blonde against faded red doesn't look that bad).  My time off from work officially starts Friday of next week.  So much to do, and it doesn't really seem like I have enough time to do it all!  I'm trying to think of everything.  I know...it's only a week...it isn't like I'm leaving the company or anything.  But there is a lot of ground to cover!  So much has changed since I took over certain processes, and I have to make sure that the folks covering me REALLY understand the expectations from management, or I'm going to have tons of stuff to do when I get back, and everything will have a "yesterday" deadline because it is already past due! I spent a month working under that kind of pressure when I took over my current duties, and really didn't like working that way.  The easier I make it on the folks that will be doing my job while I'm gone, the better off I will be.  Request for another server because the one I'm working on now may already be full by the time I go on vacation...check.  Additional IDs added for new clients...check.  Pushing folks to get me what they can ASAP...double check!!!

At least I have some good music to keep me going through the day, and block out anyone with unimportant interruptions!!!

Longest Short Week...

I would have to agree with that statement made by someone I know.  Only 4 days in this work week, but it easily felt like 6 days!  This is all I want to do this weekend....

More Rain

 

I really hope the sun doesn't come out all weekend! I want it to just keep raining and not stop!  I want to hear it hit the windows, the house...I want to smell it in the air!

Okay...back to work for me.  Here is to hoping for a very slow and quite day. 

Grrr!!!! Super Busy Day

 

That's about how I feel!  I've been busting my tail all day...since I walked in the door this morning.  That's 7 hours straight so far, and this is my first real breather!  Wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that certain folks around here think it is okay to wander into the office around 2:00 p.m., and can't even pick up any of the open tickets that need to be worked!!  This is a regular habit for this particular person, and it gets very frustrating!

Rainy Days

I love rainy days...much better than sunny days to me, personally.  I'm probably one of those that wouldn't get depressed if it rained every day and didn't stop!  I love the sound of the rain, the smell...these things are so relaxing.  Sunny days, I keep all of my blinds shut.  Rainy days, I open everything up!  I simply love the rain!

I've been rather impressed with the iTunes store as of late.  It has made some very good suggestions based on past purchases of mine, such as Blue Stone and Lunarscape.  I never heard of either before, but they are both pretty good!

It's A Grrrrr!!! Day

 

All of that work that didn't get done on Friday while I was out has been eating my whole day!  While I'm trying to get that done, more work is coming in!  What really upsets me is that the working coming in is me having to redo stuff because people didn't give me the correct info the first time (i.e, changing customer names in the system, because I set them to what they were listed as in the original request, and now they want it changed....I'm not a mind reader)!  I really hate having to do extra work because of incorrect information from the get go!!!

Long Birthday Weekend

Well, I had an okay birthday.  Didn't start off on the right track, however.  My eldest calls us at about 1:30 a.m. Friday that she had fell and busted her knee open, so I spent until 4:00 a.m. at the ER tending to that.  Because of this, I didn't get to the gym like I wanted to on Friday (didn't get out of bed until about 11:00 a.m.).  I did get my tires done (which was of high importance), and got in a little bit of quite, alone shopping time.  We then went out for a nice dinner that evening, so everything turned out okay.

I had to work Saturday and Sunday....total bummer!!!  Was very glad when those days were over!  The worst part was logging in on Saturday morning and seeing all the work that built up Friday while I was out.  Grrr!!! I would like to have just one time off that I log in after and find everything was taken care of!

Monday, my son took us to a movie as a birthday present (my husband's birthday is a week before mine).  That was cool of him.  Didn't really do much else, but a little cleaning.

Now, back to the grind for me. 19 days until my vacation!!!  I simply can't wait!!

Another Day Of Being Slammed!!

Why?!?!?!  All week, when there was someone to help with the work, things have been kinda slow.  I mean, there hasn't been "nothing" to do...the work just came at a pace where you could breathe between each thing you had to do.

The one day of the week that I am the ONLY one available to take care of the work, and all the work comes in all at once!  Again I ask....WHY?!?!?!  So now I'm going crazy, and EVERYTHING has to be done TODAY because I'm scheduled to be off tomorow, and I am NOT logging in to take care of any work related stuff!  I already have to work Saturday and Sunday, I'm getting my birthday as a real day off!  I owe it to myself.

Grrrrr!!!!  Back to work!

Front Row!!!

 

Just too incredibly awesome!!!  Tommy usually gives away a guitar to someone on the front row.  Wonder if I can score that one this year...only if there isn't some really cute kid sitting there with us...LOL.

Waiting To Buy Tickets!!

TSO tickets go on pre-sale in 15 minutes!!  This is a tradition of my husband's and mine.  We have been to every concert they have had where we live.  We make it a super date night...get a little dressed up, go have a nice dinner, then go to the concert.  The show is always awesome!

Long Day

Today just seems to be dragging!  Not sure why.  Maybe because it is too quiet around here.  Don't get me wrong...plenty of work to do.  It's just that no one from my team but the boss is in the office, so I'm over here by myself, with my headphones on listening to some good music, building a database.

I worked on a couple of drawings last night.  Still sticking to the easy stuff for now...getting the eye and hand trained again.  It is coming along slowly.

Oh well, back to my music and my work!
